Ilex aquifolium (holly)

Ligustrum ovalifolium

Prunus lusitanica (Portuguese laurel)

Little known in Italy but very common in France and Spain. It is an evergreen shrub that is ideal for medium to tall hedges. It produces fruit similar to cherries.

Taxus baccata (Yew)

Thuja occidentalis (white cedar)
